CSD - Descriptions

This is simply the maximum number of hits (visits) per month that you can have.

The amount of data that can be transferred from your website.

This is the number of mailboxes that you get with your account. They can be accessed with any standard e-mail client via POP, IMAP, or telnet.

IMAP Mailbox Access:

IMAP is a mail protocol, similar to POP. It has several extra features that POP lacks, but it isn't as widely supported. Most modern mail clients do have support for it, though.

VirtualMasq:

VirtualMasq gives you unlimited e-mail addresses. It is basically a "catch-all", which will intercept mail sent to anyname@yourdomain.com, and send them all to a single (or multiple) POP mailboxes. This service is included with Plans 2, 3 and 4.

Majordomo:

Majordomo is a server for a mail list. You can have complete control over who gets added, who gets removed, the ability to filter out messages that contain certain words or phrases, and the ability to make it a moderated list, so that you have to authorize all messages that are posted to the list.

E-mail forwards:

Forwards, or aliases, allow you to setup e-mail addresses @yourdomain.com, and have them forward to an external address.

Autoresponders:

This allows you to setup automatic, customized responses when people e-mail a certain address. For example, you could set it up so that when someone e-mails info@yourdomain.com, it would automatically respond with several paragraphs of information about your company.

Dialup Included:

This indicates that you get one of our standard dial-up accounts for free with this account, giving you 150hours/mo of fast net access.

Telnet Access:

Telnet is a way to connect to our UNIX machines, allowing you to have remote access to your website. You can edit your page online, check your e-mail, and more.

SSH Access:

SSH (Secure Shell) offers you the same functionality as telnet, but the transferred data is encrypted, increasing the security of your connection.

FTP Access:

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is one of the most commonly used ways to upload and download data over the internet. This feature will allow you to upload files to your webpage with any FTP program, or any Web Page publisher that supports FTP.

Anonymous FTP:

This allows you to setup an anonymous FTP directory for people to be able to upload and download files.

ftp.yourdomain.com:

This allows your anonymous FTP site to be located directly at ftp.yourdomain.com, without the trailing /users/yourname.

Secure Server Access:

This allows you to put certain pages, most often it is used for secure transactions on forms that require someone to enter their credit card information. Our secure server will allow the data to be encrypted, to prevent "snooping" that might otherwise allow unauthorized people to see the information.

Shopping Cart Available:

Includes installation and configuration of our E-Commerce shopping cart application on request. This allows you to have your own database driven or html based shopping cart application online, fully customizable. Available options include real-time UPS shipping cost determination and real time credit card authentication using Authorizenet.com!

Submission to Search Engines:

We will submit your site to over 1000 search engines if you have this feature. This greatly increases your chances of being found on the web, and all you have to provide is a site description and some keywords that you would like people to be able to find your site with.

Search Engine:

This means that you'll get your own search engine for your web page. You can then setup a page for visitors to be able to search through your site for keywords.

Frontpage Extensions:

With this feature, you can build your page using the "extensions" in the popular webpage publisher, Frontpage. With the extensions, you can build online forms and much more.

CGI Access:

This means that you can publish your own CGI/Perl scripts on the server. CGI scripts are often used to create forms, counters, guest books, and much more.

Pre-Configured CGI Scripts:

We have a variety of configured scripts on our commercial web server, so that you don't have to setup your own! Just add a few strings to your HTML files, and you'll be able to create counters, forms, and more!

Full Web Statistics:

Want to see how many hits your web page got and which pages are the most popular? Nightly reports that are ran on our server can provide you with that information and more (including referrer logs). You'll have access to daily, weekly, and monthly (archived) reports!

Access to Raw Logs:

Want to run your own reports on the logs, or view your web page hits in real-time? You can have full-time, immediate access to the HTTP server logs.
